Adventure Island at Glover's Reef Itinerary: First Half Fri - Wed, $1565 per person
Friday, Day 1: Fly into Belize International Airport (BZE). Meet the Adventure Island at Glover's Reef group at the Belize Biltmore Hotel (15 minute cab ride from airport) for a 5:30 p.m. orientation followed by dinner and lodging (dinner and lodging is included in trip price).
Saturday, Day 2: After group breakfast walk to our private dock two blocks away; your luggage is driven over for you. From Belize City we travel 3.5 hours by our private shuttle boat to Long Caye (65 miles). A tour of the island is followed by lunch. You then move into your cabana, and after a short rest we complete snorkel orientation which includes a swim-to-snorkel for about an hour after the brief instructional session.
Sunday, Day 3: Coffee starts at 6 a.m! After breakfast we begin with sea kayak orientation, covering paddle strokes, entering and exiting the kayak for snorkeling, and the T-rescue. After lunch one guide leads snorkeling from the kayaks, while another guide teaches surf kayaking. Certified divers may begin diving at anytime.
Monday, Day 4: After a delicious breakfast Discover Scuba is offered for beginning divers, and another kayak-snorkel excursion is offered as well. Both windsurfing and paddleboarding orientations are offered this afternoon if the weather permits. You may join one or both, then continue to practice these sports with or without a guide for the rest of the week.
Tuesday, Day 5: Paddle, paddleboard, (or wind permitting, kite sail) six miles round-trip to Middle Caye to tour the island and the Marine Research Center, a base for researching marine scientists. You can also choose “island time” and sea kayak, snorkel, dive, surf kayak, windsurf, or surf with your buddy.
Wednesday, Day 6: The last day is always the best. If the conditions permit, we often offer one final dive or snorkel to “The Wall”, a world famous dive site that was a favorite of Jasques Couteau's.. After lunch we take our shuttle to Belize City. Our arrival time cannot be predicted because it depends on factors out of our control. Therefore, you should not make plans for Saturday night. After arriving at the Biltmore, guests are on their own for dinner.
Thursday. Day 7: Earliest day to fly home, or continue to other spots in Belize.
