One year of global weather

By Slickrock Adventures on April 9, 2014

We are weather freaks. That just happens to you when you own an island in Belize. We just found this video of a full year of satellite global weather imagery, compressed into an 8-minute video. The European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites produced this video to show global weather patterns throughout 2013. The accompanying commentary by Mark Higgins of EUMETSAT is excellent.

Most of the interesting aspects of this year-long compilation of satellite imagery can be heard on the narration. It is fascinating to see the bigger patterns of the weather systems around the earth. If you focus on the region and specific locality that you are from you can see the bigger weather patterns that affect you every day. What is most remarkable about focusing on your region is to compare it to other areas, and then realize how much more severe the weather is in the extreme storm zones!
