Sunday, Day 3

Our sea kayak orientation is this morning: we cover paddle strokes, entering and exiting the kayak, and rescue techniques. After lunch one guide takes a group paddling to a nearby patch reef to snorkel from the kayaks, while another guide offers windsurfing instruction. Certified divers may also begin diving.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monday, Day 4

The first Discover Scuba/Resort course is often offered this morning for beginning divers. Others enjoy a morning paddle or go diving. Both windsurfing and kayak surfing orientations are offered in the afternoon. You may join one or both, then continue to practice these sports with or without a guide for the rest of the week.

Tuesday, Day 5

Paddle (or wind permitting, kite sail) five miles round-trip to Middle Caye to tour the Marine Research Center, base for visiting marine biologists. You may also choose “island time” and stay on the island. You can sea kayak, snorkel, dive, surf kayak, windsurf, surf, or just relax.

 

 

 

Wednesday, Day 6

After breakfast and a morning of island activities, you depart just after lunch, arriving in Belize City by 3 - 4 p.m.

 

The staff of Crystal Paradise Resort will pick you up and drive you to this wonderful jungle hideaway, nestled beneath the rainforest canopy; this is where we stay for the next three nights.

 

 

 

Thursday, Day 7

Caracol Mayan Ruins. After an early breakfast we depart for a full-day trip to the Maya Mountains; Caracol is the largest complex of Mayan ruins in Belize. Lunch is at the ruins.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Friday, Day 8

We jeep to Actun Tunichil Muknal cave, first walking 2 miles, then swimming into the mouth of the cave. We spend much of the day exploring deep inside the earth.

 

 

Saturday, Day 9

Transfer to Belize City. After breakfast at the lodge we transfer to Belize International Airport (or another location in Belize City). Note that only breakfast is included this day.
