Belize Adventure Week Additional Information

GROUP SIZE
Min.- 4; max.-12

AGE LIMITS Minimum: 10*; maximum: 70; no exceptions permitted to age limits

*Children ages 10 and 11 may not be able to participate in all activities. It is at the discretion of the guide, based on safety reasons, to assess the child’s physical capabilities for each activity. If the guide decides that it is unsafe for the child to participate, a parent will either have to sit the activity out with the child, or hire a babysitter at a cost to the parent of $25 US/day. This assessment can only take place after the guide has met the child and also is weather-dependent (high water due to rain can drastically alter the difficulty level of our activities.)

SMALL-TRIP SURCHARGE
All trips have a minimum requirement of 4 adult guests; however, we will run a trip for two to three adults for an additional surcharge of $300/person. When you sign up for a trip, please be aware you will be charged this additional fee if fewer than four adults sign up. We will bill you for this additional fee two weeks prior to departure if it applies.
 

EXTENDING YOUR STAY ON THE ISLAND
No number of days is enough time on our island! Guests booking directly will receive 25% off the 2nd trip when two island packages are booked back-to-back. We do not offer individual days on the island. Adventure Week guests often book the Adventure Island at Glover's Reef First Half itinerary so they can stay on the island for a full week to take advantage of more Belize scuba diving and Belize snorkeling. This discount is not available for those booking through an agent eligible for commissions, and also not available in addition to any other discounts you may already be receiving. On holiday dates that are blocked for discounts, the 25% back-to-back discount is dropped to 10%.

THE BOAT RIDE

Our boat leaves each Wednesday to travel 65 miles to the island, and takes about 2.5 hours; 45 minutes of this ride is an open sea crossing between the Belize Barrier Reef and Glover’s Reef. It is common to experience rough seas over this stretch, with large swells and spray. We hire professional captains who have spent their careers handling boats in all conditions, and we are confident in the safety of our guests. Yet some guests, while safe, may feel concerned if they are not accustomed to traveling on the open sea, and those susceptible to seasickness should take precautions. Be assured that we do monitor weather conditions and safety, and our captain may choose to cancel if conditions are deemed dangerous. When this happens, (and it does) we provide other activities.
